Position Description: Self-Help is seeking an experienced Consolidation Accountant to join our team in Durham, NC. The Accountant will produce Self-Help Ventures Fund's consolidated financial statements, manage annual audits and tax returns for Self-Help Ventures Fund and its subsidiaries and provide management reporting to Self-Help Ventures Fund's business units. This will include managing the engagement workflow with outside CPA firm for approximately 25 subsidiary LLC and C-corporation audits and approximately 30 tax returns. Essential Responsibilities: Produce monthly consolidated financial statements for internal use and quarterly consolidated financial statements for external users such as creditors, investors, and donors. Manage engagement workflow with outside CPA firm for approximately 25 subsidiary LLC and C-corporation audits and approximately 30 tax returns. Review audits and returns for accuracy. Review LLC operating and related agreements to ensure that periodic loan, lease and fee accruals, payments and cash flow distributions, are posted and disbursed as prescribed. Ensure Self-Help Ventures Fund's accounting is consistent with GAAP and Self-Help accounting policies. Provide financial information to teams that report to investors, donors, and creditors. Respond to inquiries from Self-Help business lines and serve as a resource for Self-Help Ventures Fund related questions. Draft year-end financial statements and footnotes as part of annual audit. Maintain team and business segment reporting (e.g. ratio analysis, trends, variance) for Self- Help Ventures Fund's primary business lines: secondary market, commercial lending, real estate, and credit union support. Perform other duties as may be deemed appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: CPA required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field. 5+ years of relevant work experience. Excellent written and verbal business communication skills. Strong commitment to our mission – creating economic opportunity for traditionally underserved communities. Preference for working in organizations that place priority on teamwork and collaboration. Desired Qualifications: MBA or MAC. Experience preparing partnership and corporate tax returns. Experience with new markets and historic tax credits. Experience with Community Development Financial Institutions. Physical Requirements: Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
