New Markets Tax Credit Impacts: A Case Study in Durham, North Carolina
(Spring 2010)
This research looks into the impact of the New Markets Tax Credit program in downtown Durham, North Carolina. From 2002-2006, Durham received more NMTC investment on a per capita basis than any other city in the nation. We argue that the program had a catalytic impact on this previously disinvested downtown.
