Self-Help makes commercial loans to businesses, nonprofits and charter schools in North Carolina. We have nine regional offices across North Carolina as well as in the District of Columbia and California. In North Carolina, Self-Help finances loans ranging in size from $1,000 to multi-million dollar projects. Nationally, commercial loans of $500,000 or more are available to businesses, charter schools, nonprofits, and commercial real estate projects located in low-income areas.

Before submitting a loan application request, please note that the only commercial lending we offer outside of NC is for projects of $500,000 or more, with the occasional exception to charter schools. Please check which loan size relates to your request and we will have someone contact you.
