What It Is
Self-Help works with the Small Business Administration (SBA) to offer loan programs to make its small business lending possible:
- 504 Loan Program
- SBA Microloan
- SBA 7(a)
- SBA Express
- SBA Community Express
Self-Help provides small loans to start-up, newly established and growing small businesses through the SBA Microloan Program. A microloan can be used for any legitimate business-related need, making it ideal for very small companies, home-based businesses and self-employed workers seeking loans less than $35,000.
Individuals and small businesses applying for a microloan may be required to fulfill business training and/or planning requirements as part of the loan application process.
The SBA 7(a) and SBA Express are guarantee loan programs Self-Help uses to make lending to small business borrowers possible. These guarantees can be used for loans ranging from a couple thousand dollars to $2 million.
Self-Help works closely with small business borrowers to determine which program best suits his or her business needs.
