Small Businesses
Many credit-worthy entrepreneurs find themselves without access to credit to start or grow their businesses. As part of our mission, Self-Help provides loans to small business owners who historically have lacked access to capital.
Who We Serve
Self-Help finances many types of business activity, including start-ups and acquisitions. However, we reserve the right to not make loans to businesses engaged in financing activities, speculative operations, and certain “sin” businesses such as alcohol and firearms.
What We Offer
We make loans ranging in size from a few thousand dollars to several million, depending on the project. Our loans are available to meet a variety of needs:
- Starting, buying or expanding a business
- Purchasing or constructing a building
- Buying equipment and machinery
- Providing working capital
- Buying inventory
