Open an Account
To open an account, we require a one-time membership fee of $25. Of that fee, $20 is a tax-deductible contribution to the Center for Community Self-Help (CCSH), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that develops and coordinates Self-Help’s programs, raises resources, and advocates for economic opportunity. The other $5 represents your non-refundable share ownership in the Self-Help Credit Union. We encourage you to read our Truth in Savings (pdf) brochure before you open an account.

Important Information About Procedures For Opening A New Account
Member Identification Program (MIP): To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means to you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, physical address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We are required to see your driver's license or other identifying documents, or have them mailed to us prior to opening a new account.
