Reflections from long time members
Dear Friends:
Let me tell you a bit about what our Self-Help membership has meant to us over the years. Back in the 80’s when we wanted to start saving a little bit of money for our kids’ education, we opened accounts at Self Help. Over the years, we have recommended Self-Help to many others and whenever we’ve had a little money to save—setting up our IRAs, a reserve account for our neighborhood association, a bank account for a nonprofit—we’ve learned to look first to Self Help. When we call, we get actual people who are helpful and responsive. Competitive interest rates combined with the knowledge that our money is being invested to support our values have led us to use Self Help as our primary bank. As we read headlines about the meltdown of major financial institutions, we sleep well knowing that our savings are being managed by people committed to being responsible stewards and responsible members of the community. “Voting with our dollars” isn’t just about the stuff we buy. It’s also about how we save and how we invest.
As members of Self-Help Credit Union we are all part of its success and we invite you to support its continued growth.
