Personalize your card with My Name

Self-Help’s My Name feature for credit or debit cards lets you display your preferred first name — the name that identifies the real you. 

To update an existing card or to get a new card using a preferred name, visit your local branch or give our Member Support team a call. Just let us know that you want to use the My Name feature. 

My Name guidelines: 

• ATM cards are not eligible for My Name. 
• The My Name feature applies only to first names. The last name on your card must remain your legal name. 
• You can choose a nickname or other preferred first name for your card. The name cannot include numbers, symbols or special characters, and it cannot be profane or offensive. 
• For online purchases, we recommend using the name displayed on the card you are using to make the purchase.
• In our communications with you, we will try to use the name you provided for your My Name card. We may continue to use your legal first name for some communications and for identity verification purposes. The name on your member account will remain your legal name.
• If needed, you can tell merchants to contact Self-Help by calling the number on the back of the card during business hours to verify your identity.
