2024 Annual Members’ Meeting Recap

Self-Help Credit Union and the Center for Community Self-Help hosted our 2024 Annual Members' Meeting on Wednesday, November 20th, at our Durham headquarters. In case you missed it, here are a few highlights from the evening. 

Guest Speakers 

After a fantastic opening reception with catering from Quizine Orleans and The Sugar Hill Kakery, SHCU board Chair Deborah McKetty welcomed everyone. Once a financial review, highlights of SHCU activities, and other updates were presented, we had the chance to hear a few exciting presentations: 

• Borrower Spotlight: Jessica Reed-Hill, Owner of The Sugar Hill Kakery 
• Expansion into Atlanta: Mandy Eidson, Director of Business Development at SHCU 
• Reclaiming Chicago: Rudy Medina, Regional President of SHCU

After our guest speakers’ impactful discussions, Self-Help CEO Martin Eakes spoke to the group about remaining steadfast to our mission. Here is a highlight from his speech:
